GameStop has recently benefited from the announcement that the Xbox One and PS4 PlayStation will support used games. This gives GameStop time to not only generate easy revenues from its used game sells but also to figure out what to do with itself after the Internet likely replaces physical game sells as a source of video games.
The current life expectancy of new physical game sells is around seven years, or 2,500 days, so if it looks ahead to the challenge of marketing Internet downloads, long-term prospects are good. If GameStop rests on its laurels or old business model, it could be in for a rude shock.
Right now, the company produces $500 million in free cash flow or a 10% cash flow relative to its market cap, the business is cheap, and there's a 33% short position on the company that could turn into a short squeeze if this Christmas brings a successful launch of its new products.
For the next three years, GameStop looks good. Beyond that, it depends on how the company adapts to the changes in the market.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By DAILYFINANCE]
Alamy PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Personal computer giant Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) has confirmed that it expects layoffs at the upper end of a range that it outlined earlier this year, with 5,000 more workers than originally planned expected to lose jobs by October 2014. The company said in a securities filing Monday that "continued market and business pressures" were behind the move. The additional cuts, on top of the 29,000 positions it planned to cut in a May 2012 restructuring plan, will likely boost the accumulated restructuring charges to $4.1 billion from $3.6 billion, it said. Hewlett-Packard said in March that its estimated cutbacks could vary by as much as 15 percent from its original estimate. At an October meeting with analysts, Chief Financial Officer Cathie Lesjak said the company planned to end up "near the high end" of that range. Cost cuts have helped HP weather revenue declines in PCs, printing and enterprise services. In the fiscal year through Oct. 31, revenue fell 7 percent to $112.3 billion, but the company posted $5.1 billion in net profit, compared with a $12.7 billion loss a year earlier. HP shares had risen 12 cents to $28.179 at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Yet tech stocks within the Dow did their best to minimize the Dow's losses. Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ ) rose by 1.5% even as most of the attention in the PC hardware space went to rival Dell (NASDAQ: DELL ) and the continuing drama surrounding competing proposals that will define its future. Arguably, the greater the uncertainty for Dell, the longer HP can benefit from customers who don't want to chance the possibility that Dell won't be around to stand behind its products. Yet for long-term investors, the PC business is a distraction for HP that should instead give way to the vision toward higher-margin services. If HP can implement those initiatives, they'd go a long way toward justifying the stock's gains.
