When most investors hear the term "amusement park", one of two names comes to mind. The first one, of course, is DisneyWorld (or DisneyLand, depending on your locale), which of course is owned by The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS), and probably set the bar for all other theme parks to come after it. Thrill-seekers of a slightly different age - ones without kids anyway - may recall fond memories of trips to Kings Island, Kings Dominion, or perhaps a visit to what some consider the best amusement park in the world, Cedar Point. They're all owned by Cedar Fair, L.P. (NYSE:FUN). And by most accounts, those leading theme park companies have provided equally compelling gains over the year for shareholders of DIS and FUN. But, there's a shift in what amusement park visitors are now seeking, and while Walt Disney Company or Cedar Fair aren't apt to be put out of business anytime soon, there's no denying that newcomer Independent Film Development Corporation (OTCMKTS:IFLM) - aka IndyFilmCorp - is better positioned to satisfy consumers' new definition of a thrilling theme park. Likewise, shares of IFLM may be poised to offer equally thrilling returns.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Morgan Housel]
This isn't surprising. The supply of existing homes for sale is at a seven-year low. Construction of new homes is still well below the rate of household formation. Prices will almost always rise in that situation. It's simple supply and demand. And it's pulled millions of homeowners out from being underwater on their mortgage and brought new hope to the housing industry, boosting shares of D.R. Horton (NYSE: DHI ) and NVR (NYSE: NVR ) as the outlook for construction rises.

Patrick T. Fallon/Bloomberg via Getty Images Toll Brothers' quarterly profit more than doubled as a recovering housing market allowed the largest U.S. luxury homebuilder to sell more homes at higher prices, sending its shares up 4 percent. The company, which sells homes that can cost more than $2 million, has been able to perform better during the past few quarters than most large U.S. homebuilders as its buyers were less affected by a recent rise in mortgage rates. Toll's average selling price rose about 22 percent to $706,000 in the second quarter ended April 30 -- a period well into the spring selling season, which is to homebuilders what the holiday shopping season is to retailers. Toll (TOL), which mainly builds single-family houses, handed over 1,218 homes in the quarter, up 36 percent from a year earlier. While the company's sales remain strong, it decided last year to build and rent apartments to cater to the demand for rentals as higher interest rates and slow income growth pushes home ownership out of reach for many Americans. Permits to build multifamily housing such as apartment blocks rose 19.5 percent in the United States last month, compared with a 0.3 percent rise in permits for single-family homes. Toll Brothers said Wednesday it had about 1,500 rental units under construction and that it controlled sites for another 3,800. Lennar (LEN), the second-largest U.S. homebuilder, is the only other builder that is offering apartment rental units. 'Impressive Results' Toll's net income soared to $65.2 million, or 35 cents a share, in the second quarter from $24.7 million, or 14 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue jumped 67 percent to $860.4 million. Orders stayed almost flat at 1,749 homes, compared with a 6 percent fall in the first quarter. "We are in a leveling period in the early stages of the housing recovery with significant pent-up demand building," Chief Executive Officer Douglas Yearley said in a statement. UBS analyst Davi

The SEC has halted trading of small cap marijuana stock Growlife Inc (OTCMKTS: PHOT) after a relatively brief trading halt forAdvanced Cannabis Solutions, Inc (OTCMKTS: CANN), but Tranzbyte Corp (OTCMKTS: ERBB), Cannabis Science Inc (OTCMKTS: CBIS) and Medical Marijuana Inc (OTCMKTS: MJNA) are still very much alive. However and as I have noted (repeatedly)in the past (see here), Medical Marijuana Inc has aformer CEO who has been indicted for a multi-state mortgage fraud scam/ponzi scheme while Medbox Inc (OTCMKTS: MDBX) is another marijuana stock with some ssuesthat were summed up nicely in a Southern Investigative Reporting Foundation article cleverly entitled: Tinkerer, Lawyer, Hustler, Lies: One Man Path to a Dope Fortune. Obviously, investing in marijuana stocks is not for conservative. Nevertheless, there isstill plenty of good or bad news for investors in the marijuana sector to inhale, including the following:

Companies like Medical Marijuana Inc. (OTCMKTS:MJNA), Tranzbyte Corp. (OTCMKTS:ERBB), and Growlife Inc. (OTCBB:PHOT) were on the receiving end of another dose of good news on Thursday.... not that they necessarily needed it. That's when a study conducted by researchers at the University of Texas was published, illustrating how not only did the advent of medical marijuana not increase crime, but rather, coincided with a (relative) decline in crime.
- [By Bryan Murphy]
When Tranzbyte Corp. (OTCMKTS:ERBB) and Medbox Inc. (OTCMKTS:MDBX) both announced they would be unveiling vending machines to dispense medical marijuana and/or recreational marijuana, fans and supporters of hemp/pot applauded the ease of access, but even some of the most die-hard supporters saw potential problems. Although the machines made by MDBX and ERBB would only dispense marijuana if a strong verification procedure had been successfully performed, there was just something a little un-nerving about an un-manned metal box that - given the right hacking capabilities - could be fooled into giving marijuana to someone who shouldn't have it. Or barring that, the machines (which are admittedly solid and stout) could still be vandalized, broken, or even outright stolen if left unprotected. Those are long shots, granted, but thieves know few bounds.

Its been a rather eventful week for news from the marijuana sector and small cap marijuana stocks like GW Pharmaceuticals PLC (NASDAQ: GWPH), Tranzbyte Corp (OTCMKTS: ERBB) and Growlife Inc (OTCMKTS: PHOT) as one of these stocks gets endorsed by Morgan Stanley while another appears on CNBCmore signs of legitimacy for an investmentsector that full of pumps, dumps and other unsavory types of activities. Just consider the following small cap marijuana stock or pot industry news:

DuPont (NYSE: DD ) is leading the Dow's laggards, falling 2.3% today. Full-year earnings are also expected to be at the lower end of the previously stated $3.85 to $4.05 per share range. A wet spring is having a negative impact the agriculture business, which accounts for 45% of the company's revenue.

Chemical giant E.I. du Pont de Nemours (NYSE: DD ) lost 2.2% today as a Bank of America analyst downgraded the stock from buy to neutral. Here, DuPont is somewhat a victim of its own success: With the stock's solid performance thus far this year, there aren't many visible catalysts on the horizon justifying that continued trend. The downgrade even said broad economic growth would be needed to justify a buy rating, which, according to the IMF, seems pretty unlikely.
