Top Low Price Companies To Buy For 2015

In the prevailing economic environment where people are finding it difficult to survive the impending crisis, companies which provide the lowest rates as well as innovative products tend to win. Though there is a section of people who don mind splurging on branded products at any point of time, there is a large section of customers who are greatly influenced by price and promotions.

This is what is understood and followed continuously by the packaged food retailer ConAgra Foods (CAG). The company has been performing well, owing to its expansion in the low priced private label products which are faring well since it is lighter on consumerspockets. However, unfavorable weather conditions forced the food company to register a dull quarter. Let us understand the company better.

Driven By Acquisitions

ConAgra keenness of expanding its consumer products segment through a host of acquisitions has been instrumental to its success. However, lower store traffic led to 3% decline in revenue to $4.44 billion. The consumer foods segment declined 7% over last year because of lower volumes. However, the commercial food segment did well with a 1% rise in revenue mainly due to products such as bakery products, specialty potato and private label food products.

Peter Foley/Bloomberg via Getty ImagesBurberry Group CEO Angela Ahrendts. LONDON -- Christopher Bailey, the designer credited with restoring the cachet to fashion brand Burberry, is to become chief executive next year when long-standing boss Angela Ahrendts will move to Apple. The 157-year-old British fashion house, famous for its camel, red and black check pattern, said Tuesday that Ahrendts would step down by mid-2014 after which Bailey would combine his role as chief creative officer with chief executive. News the 42-year-old Yorkshireman would hold both positions sparked concern among some analysts that he might be taking on too much, and sent shares in the group down 6 percent in early trading, valuing the business at 6.6 billion pounds. "There will undoubtedly be relief that Mr. Bailey, the driving force behind the brand for the last 12 years, is staying," Morgan Stanley (MS) said in a note to clients. "But we anticipate some investor concern about combining the chief creative officer and CEO roles, which are both time consuming and require very different skill sets." Ahrendts, who has been Burberry (BURBY) boss for eight years, during which time its share price has soared about 250 percent, will take up a newly created position at Apple as a senior vice president with oversight of retail and online stores. She will report directly to CEO Tim Cook. Ahrendts will be looking to do better than the last chief executive of a British company who left London to join Apple (AAPL) -- John Browett who quit Dixons to lead the iPad and iPhone maker's global retail expansion in 2012. He left six months later. Bailey joined Burberry in 2001 and has held the major creative role for six years, helping to rebuild the group after it became a victim of its own success in the 1990s when its trademark pattern was embraced by the mass market, losing its appeal to its core wealthy clientele. Under Ahrendts and Bailey, the group has refocused on the luxury market, inc

Web.com Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:WWWW), a leading provider of internet services and online marketing solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses, will report its third quarter results for the fiscal period ended September 30, 2012 after the U.S. financial markets close on October 25, 2012.

  • [By Alex Planes]

What: Shares of Web.com (NASDAQ: WWWW  ) rose more than 10% this morning -- and are still up around a 9% gain -- after the company surprised the Street with better-than-expected quarterly results and solid guidance for the rest of 2013.

  • [By Roberto Pedone]

One technology player that insiders are snapping up a lot of stock in here is Web.com (WWWW), which provides Internet services to small businesses in North America, South America, and the United Kingdom. Insiders are buying this stock into major weakness, since shares plunged lower by 49% so far in 2014.

Web.com has a market cap of $820 million and an enterprise value of $1.3 billion. This stock trades at a fair valuation, with a forward price-to-earnings of 6.5. Its estimated growth rate for this year is 13.1%, and for next year it's pegged at 1.7%. This is not a cash-rich company, since the total cash position on its balance sheet is $15.90 million and its total debt is $520.83 million.

A beneficial owner just bought 1,440,000 shares, or about $22.59 million worth of stock, at $15.69 per share.

From a technical perspective, WWWW is currently trending below both its 50-day and 200-day moving averages, which is bearish. This stock recently gapped down sharply from over $20 a share to $14.71 a share with heavy downside volume. Following that move, shares of WWWW have started to rebound off its new 52-week low of $14.71 share to its recent high of $16.23 a share. That move has now pushed shares of WWWW within range of triggering a major breakout trade.

If you're bullish on WWWW, then I would look for long-biased trades as long as this stock is trending above its new 52-week low of $14.71 and then once it breaks out above some key near-term overhead resistance levels at $16.23 a share to its gap-down-day high of $16.35 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that registers near or above its three-month average volume of 756,302 shares. If that breakout develops soon, then WWWW will set up to re-fill some of its previous gap-down-day zone from earlier this month that started just above $20 a share.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Kyle Woodley]

The short, sucky answer? A lot:

Plans for a igafactorymeant to produce millions of electric-car batteries ginned up excitement, but also raised eyebrows. The Wall Street Journal reported on skepticism in the space — including from heads at Volkswagen (VLKAY) and battery maker Highpower International (HPJ). Now, even planned investment partner Panasonic (PC) now sounds iffy on the project, with company Kazuhiro Tsuga saying “the investment risk is definitely larger.” Not good. There also was Tesla direct sales snafu. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie huffed and puffed and (on March 11) successfully blew down Tesla direct sales model, with the Motor Vehicle Commission approving a measure to enforce an already-existing ban on direct sales. On the flip side, Tesla has scored victories in New York and Ohio in the past month, and is making progress in Arizona (which has a little incentive on the board). Production of the Model X has been pushed further back, to 2015. Musk’s reasons — mostly having to do with focusing on bolstering Model S sales — are valid, but that doesn really soften the blow of a longer wait for the much-anticipated addition to Tesla line. To address the issue of battery fires in the Model S, TSLA added titanium shields and aluminum deflector plates to new vehicles and offered to install them for free in all its existing cars. Tesla margins are excellent, and there no hard number on the cost impact of the fix, but titanium ain cheap. This definitely isn going to add to Tesla bottom line. What Now?

I won belabor you with my bullish position on TSLA stock, but if you want, you can see it here. In short, Musk is a genius; Tesla products are quality and appeal to (and are priced for) the all-important luxury segment; and just given size and scale, TSLA has oh-so-much room to grow.

When judging a company's prospects, how quickly it turns cash outflows into cash inflows can be just as important as how much profit it's booking in the accounting fantasy world we call "earnings." Although oil prices are at multi year lows, nowmight be the time to start taking a closer look atsmall cap gas compression or enhanced oil recovery (EOR) stocks like TETRA Technologies, Inc (NYSE: TTI), Exterran Holdings, Inc (NYSE: EXH) and Propell Technologies Group Inc (OTCBB: PROP)as oil and natural gas prices willinevitably rise once again. To start with, natural gas compression services areneeded to transport natural gas from low-pressure wells into gathering systems, storage and processing facilitiesas well as to maintain production as reservoir pressure declines. In addition, compression servicesare used to extract gas fromunconventional natural gas sources like shale plays. As for so-called enhanced oil recovery or EOR, itsa generic term for the techniques used for increasing the amount of crude oil that can be extracted from an oil field with these potential methods including steam flood and water flood injectionor hydraulic fracturing(so-called fracking). Naturally, demand for compression services and EOR technologies are impacted by (the temporary)low oil and gas commodity prices and so are the share prices for publicly traded stocks in the space.

What a ride it’s been for investors inTetra Technologies (TTI) today.

    Agence France-Presse/Getty Images

Shares of Tetra Technologies traded down as much as 16% this morning after the oil & gas services company reported a profit of 6 cents not including Maritech and other unusual items, missing analyst forecasts for 19 cents. Tetra Technologies also said it would make between 50 cents and 60 cents during fiscal 2014, below forecasts for 66 cents.

At 2:38 p.m., however, Tetra was trading down just 0.8% at $10.88. RBC’s Kurt Hallead and team explain why:

Tetra Technologies rallied after starting the day at -15%. We think there was an overreaction to the headline miss andTetra Technologies’ core operating business results, along with 2H14 guidance, were in line with expectations. Moving forward, the company has some key catalysts on the horizon that should lead to significantly improved operating performance and investor awareness. Key Catalysts:

    1. Get Maritech (E&P P&A liability in GoM) off the books. Ideally by 3Q. Once this is done,Tetra Technologies may implement a dividend or share repo program.

    2. Broaden Production Testing customer base, which should lead to a ramp in margins.

    3. Increase scale of Compressco through M&A, along with awareness of the MLP’s value to Tetra Technologies.

    4. Sell the offshore services business to simplify business structure.

Shares of Tetra Technologies are down 12% in 2014.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Dan Carroll]

Finally, Alcoa (NYSE: AA  ) shares are leading all Dow stocks in the red today, as the aluminum manufacturer's stock has fallen 1.7%. Alcoa's been one of the worst-performing stocks on the index in 2013 as its shares have fallen victim to slumping prices across the materials sector. The company received a boost last week when China reported stronger trade data than expected. Alcoa needs China's economy to dig out of its current slowdown, an event that has crippled the industrials sector across the board. With other leading economies still crawling out of the recession's depth, China's growth can save -- or sink -- this industry.
